Jack and the Magic Beans

I have a magic garden! It grows things even without a lot of watering or enough sunshine in our shady backyard.  I love it!
the semi-flourishing garden

It's probably because I have a child named Jack and isn't that name synonymous with magic beans and growing things?  He comes over on his magic ship:
Jack and his magic ship

And helps me water the plants:

And then he chases me with the hose:
Jackson thinks it's really funny to see me run away screaming, and he's actually pretty fast so I have to really  run to stay dry.  He figured this game out all by himself.

Here's a tour of the plants:
Zucchini!  A few weeks ago I went out and had two big zucchini's that had grown without me even knowing.  It was awesome.  One was still small enough to enjoy cut up and grilled, the other I made into bread and it was so-o yummy!
another one ripening up

Yellow Squash:  Once again one grew without me knowing and got grilled, but this one I'll watch.

Tomatoes: Lots of green ones but nothing red yet.

Cucumbers!

My cucumber sandwich was quite delectable. Also growing are chives and pepper plants: red bell, green bell, yellow bell and jalapenos.  Really it's the amazing soil that is helping them grow. It's a mixture specific for square foot gardens and it really really works! :)
