He's Three!

Well, the big day finally came. Jackson is now 3 years old. Not that he understands what kind of accomplishment it is to survive with us for 3 years. Actually, I'm more proud of us for making it this far. Who would've thought of us being parents, and now we are 3 years into our lifetime commitment. Still have a ways to go don't we?

So we didn't really celebrate Jacks birthday with family, but to be truthfully honest, we didn't really have much time to do anything much. On Friday, SHC was having a graduation and I felt the need to be there that night. It was a good ceremony and I'm proud of our students for what they accomplished. We held it at the Tabernacle in Logan and it was near full capacity. I took a few pictures that i'll show below.

Paul and Jackie came over on Saturday evening to give him his present. A "big boy bike". He loved it but it'll take a little while to get used to it I think. Addie and I gave him a dino helmet, a bell to put on his bike, and sidewalk chalk.

On Sunday we were grateful to have family come over (Joey, Stina, Hazel, Ian, Jaime, ?Rachel? (can't remember) and we had strawberry shortcake and watched the eclipse using thousands of sunglasses all in a row. Afterward we all went out front and played with Jacks and had a sidewalk drawing party.

I just want to say how proud I am of Jackson. It seems like yesterday we were having a hard time being able to communicate with him and now he talks in full sentences. He's a joy to be around (most of the time) and I love him. Happy birthday buddy.

Dear Jackson: (5/21/12)

You turned three years old yesterday! You are the most energetic little boy around and you keep everyone on their toes.

A few of your favorites:

Book:

Go, Dog! Go. by P.D. Eastman. We read it every night before you go to bed,

and you read most of it yourself.

Food:

Ranch. If we want you to try something we add a little ranch to and you gobble it down. You love it as a sauce with your chicken nuggets and usually the dip is gone before the chickens. You also love fruit, cheese, peanut butter and ketchup.

Activity:

Riding your bike to the park. The slides are your favorite, but you are starting to spend more time on the swings. You are learning to pump your legs on the swing!

Song:

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. You really do love so many songs so picking a favorite is hard. You love all the nursery songs like Ring Around the Rosie, Popcorn Popping, & Old McDonald. You love listening to primary song instrumentals when you go to sleep. Happy birthday is also a favorite and you love singing it to other people and blowing out fake candles.

TV Show

Octonauts. It's a cute little Disney show with animals that live in their "Octopod" under the sea.

They go on little adventures and learn about things in the ocean.

You are so smart! You love numbers and everyone is impressed with how high you can count. You will get up to 20 without any help and this weekend you started counting backwards from 10! You are still my baby and I love to cuddle with you. You make my heart happy every time you smile!
