Weekly Commitment # 2: Happy Valentines Day

ADDIE'S Take:

Addie:  I owe a big thanks to Pinterest for my idea for Chris' Valentines gift.  Chris is going to talk more about it, but  he thought it was really cool.  Thanks pinterest! I will be hoping for more good ideas in the future.

Chris:  Has the coolest wife ever.

Jackson:  Jack's nursery leaders today told me he's the best singer during singing time!  He's made such a huge difference in his language in the past 7 months.  He loves to sing and his current favorites are the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song and the Thomas song.  Obviously loves his TV shows.  He still loves playing with his Choo Choos!  Everything can be used as a train or a track for a train.  Really, everything.  If you doubt it, just give it to him and he'll show you how.
See, everything can be turned into a track.  Jacks left this creation for me to discover one day.

Lily:  Today Lily just kept looking at her hand and moving it around and stretching out her fingers and moving them back and forth.  Seeing things through a baby's eyes really helps you see the magic and miracles that you take for granted.

CHRIS' TAKE:

Before I get into the Valentines day gift Addie gave me.  I just have a couple things about Jacks and Lily.

Lily: So today we had our home teachers over (Tom Sunderland was one of them...small world huh) and Lily was staring at the other teacher (can't remember his name).  But she kept imitating him.  He would turn his head to the side and then she would.  Even after he stopped she kept doing it.

Jacks: So we've rearranged Jackson's room upstairs.  We decided to not give him a bed with a frame and a railing on it......yet.  What we've done is put a twin mattress on the floor in the corner and then put body pillows up around the sides of the wall.  He not only calls it "Jackson's bed", but "Jackson's Couch" since he's able to just sit back against the wall and read books.  Since it's all the way to the ground, he can jump on it all he wants and we're not really worried about him falling off.

We've also put his 'color me playhouse' up in his room.  It's so big it covers some of the window.  But I think it's fine because when he opens up playhouse window, he can see right outside the bedroom window.  He really likes that thing and even went up there right after church today to play.

So... Valentines day arrived this week and I thought that we had decided on no gifts that day but apparently I never got the memo that it was just me who wasn't supposed to get Addie a gift.  She was still allowed to get me one.  She was searching Pinterest and found a project someone had done.  It involves insulation foam boards, over-sized pictures printed from Staples, black paint, and spray glue.  We went to Lowe's on Saturday to buy the boards and got them cut close to the size we needed.  Today we painted just the edges and the areas you can see in the first picture below.  We then grabbed the two pictures (which Addie printed for a mere $5.00 total for both.) and spray glued them to the two boards.  Once they were finished we took the easy Velcro connectors and put them on the wall in my office (the boards are way super light.  Lighter than any picture I've ever hung) so we didn't really need much to hang them.
Addie is right. I have the coolest wife ever.

$5.00  -  We'll see if it truly last though

Tried to space them out as best I could.  The space in the middle will have a TV mounted someday.
:)
